Đồng tiền liền khúc ruột
Meaning : Everyone must take effort to get money, so people should use money appropriately and shouldn’t waste it.
Có tiền mua tiên cũng được (Money makes the mare go)
Meaning : With money, you can buy all things.
Example : Đừng tưởng rằng “có tiền mua tiên cũng được”, vì nếu bất cẩn, rất có thể anh sẽ mua phải những thứ có chất lượng thấp. (Don’t think that “money makes the mare go”, because if you are careless, you may buy low quality things.)
Tiền trao cháo múc (Money first)
Meaning : Pay first and then get what you has paid for.
Example : Thời buổi bây giờ, mọi việc đều phải “tiền trao cháo múc”, nếu không thì sẽ chẳng nhận được gì. (Today, you must pay first before you can get what you has paid for, otherwise you won’t receive anything.)
Tiền nào của nấy (You get what you pay for)
Meaning : The item you get is usually worth its price.
Example : Cứ tưởng mua được đồ tốt với giá rẻ bèo, ai ngờ đâu lại là đồ chẳng ra gì, đúng là “tiền nào của nấy”. (I think I bought a good product at a very cheap price, but it’s actually a bad product. It is true that “you will get what pay for”.)
Tiền mất tật mang
Meaning : Spending money and only get worse.
Example : Mua trúng thuốc không rõ nguồn gốc, uống vào rồi bệnh lại càng trở nên nặng hơn, đúng là “tiền mất tật mang” mà. (I bought drugs of unknown origin and then took them, and now my sickness is getting worse. I spent money and only got worse.)
Ném tiền qua cửa sổ (Throw money around)
Meaning : Spending one’s money extravagantly.
Example : Lãng phí điện, nước cũng là một hành động “ném tiền qua cửa sổ”. (Waste of electricity and water is also the act of throwing money around.)
Sống chết mặc bay, tiền thầy bỏ túi
Meaning : Referring to those who are selfish, only think of their own benefits and don’t care about others.
Đồng tiền đi trước, mực thước đi sau
Meaning : “Mực thước” refers to ethical standards. This idiom advises us not to let others judge us by money.

Meaning : Using money to examine people’s heart.
Tiền ngắn mặt dài
Meaning : Small money make one’s face uncomfortable (Tiền ngắn means small money. Mặt dài means uncomfortable face).

Meaning : A person who has mole on his / her neck often has a rich life.
