Meaning and example :
Meaning: Expresses a point of time that goes together with an event, action or state.
Note: We can use the following forms:
+ Một khi…đã…là / thì… : Affirms a habit, a rule or a certain thing.
+ Mỗi khi…là…
+ Có khi / có khi nào…không? : Make a prediction.
+ Ít khi; Mấy khi; Nhiều khi; Đôi khi
+ Khi thì…, khi thì…
Example:
Tôi gặp anh ấy khi đang trên đường đến trường.
I met him on my way to school.
Tôi biết đi xe đạp khi tôi được 10 tuổi.
I knew how to ride a bicycle when I was 10 years old.
Khi tôi đang tắm thì có tiếng điện thoại reo.
When I was taking a shower, the phone rang.
Hôm qua, khi tôi đang cùng gia đình xem ti vi thì đột nhiên cúp điện.
Yesterday, when I and my family were watching TV, the power suddenly went out.
Tôi về nhà khi trời đã tối.
I came home when it was dark.
