Meaning and example :

Meaning: Expresses the continuation, the unchanging of an action, a state or a quality of something or someone which normally would change.

Note: We can use the following forms: …vẫn sẽ / đang…; …cũng vẫn…; …vẫn phải…; …vẫn còn…; …vẫn cứ…; …vẫn còn cứ…; Tuy…vẫn…

Example:

Đã lâu không gặp mà trông chị vẫn trẻ đẹp như trước nhỉ.
Long time no see. You still looks as young and beautiful as before.

Dù ở thành thị tiện lợi hơn nhưng tôi vẫn thích sống ở thôn quê hơn.
Although it is more convenient in the city, I still prefer to live in the countryside.

Sao con vẫn còn ngồi đây xem tivi thế? Mau đi làm bài tập nhanh đi.
Why are you still watching TV? Do your homework.

Dù có như thế nào thì tôi vẫn sẽ luôn ủng hộ anh.
No matter what, I still support you.

Công việc vẫn đang được tiến hành.
Work is still being carried out.

Tớ đã đọc đi đọc lại nhiều lần rồi nhưng cũng vẫn không hiểu được nội dung của quyển sách ấy.
I have read that book many times but I still can’t understand its content.

A: Đã trễ thế này rồi mà vẫn phải học bài à?
B: Ừ, vì ngày mai tớ có bài kiểm tra.
A: It’s too late but you still have to study?
B: Yeah. Because I have a test tomorrow.

Đã lớn rồi mà vẫn còn cứ khóc nhè như thế thì không hay đâu.
You are an adult now, so it is not good to cry like that.

Tuy trời mưa tôi vẫn đi học.
Even though it’s raining, I’m still going to school.
